Distance/ Relays/ High Jump
Coach Noel Hansen was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. He attended Pampa High School in Pampa, Texas, where he was involved in cross country, track, and basketball. Post-graduation he attended University of Texas on a Cross Country and Track Scholarship, and earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He then continued his education at The University of Kansas, where he served as a cross country and track graduate assistant, while earning his Masters in Education. Prior to The Woodlands High School, he was Head Cross Country and Track Coach at New Braunfels High School for 15 years. Currently, he is in his 7th year here at The Woodlands, for a total of 22 years of coaching experience at the high school level. Coach Hansen and his wife, Stella, are proud parents to Luke, 22 years old, who is a senior at UT; Marina, 20 years old, who is a  junior at Texas State; and Helen, 13 years old, who is in the 7th grade at Knox Jr. High.

Distance/  Vertical Jumps/ Throws/ Sprints
Coach Kristen Saldaña was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in Kingwood, Texas. She attended Kingwood High School where she was involved in track and choir. She was a 4 year letterman on the Varsity track team and still currently holds the Kingwood High School discus record. Post graduation Coach Saldaña attended Texas A&M University on a track scholarship as a discus thrower, and for a short time trained for the heptathlon. Majoring in Education and English studies, she now teaches English I at The Woodlands High School-9th grade campus. This is her 10th year as the girls’ assistant track coach at The Woodlands High School and has been Coach Hansen’s full-time assistant for both Cross Country & Track for the past 7 years. In her spare time, Coach Saldaña enjoys running, reading, spending time with family, and sewing. Coach “S” and her husband, Hugo, are proud parents to a daughter named Madison who is currently 3 years old.

Hurdles/ Sprints/Relays
Coach Cristen Reed was born in Bloomington, Illinois, and attended North Kitsap High School, in Poulsbo, Washington. While in high school, Coach Reed was actively involved in track, where she was state champion in the 300m Hurdles. Post graduation she attended Washington State University on a track scholarship, where in addition to being a 4 year letterman in the 400m Hurdles, 100m Hurdles, and 4x400m Relay, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med. Prior to The Woodlands High School, she coached at New Caney High School and Klein Collins High School. She is now in her 9th year of coaching, and her 3rd year at The Woodlands High School, where she teaches Biology I at the Ninth Grade Campus. Coach Reed is married to Dale Reed, who is the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at The Woodlands High School. They have two children: a daughter Rachel, 12 years old, and a son, Bruce, who is 3 years old.
